How to Print Recipes

Instructions for Printing
Internet Explorer Using your mouse, highlight the recipe(s) that you want to print. Choose FILE -- PRINT -- SELECTION.

Two 'normal' length recipes will easily fit on one sheet of 81/2 X 11 paper. The printed width is fine for a 4 X 6 index card. If the recipe is very long, you might have to put the mixing instructions on the back of the card. You can use the cutting guidelines to cut a nice straight line.
AOL The instructions are the same as for Internet Explorer, except there is one additional step (OPTIONS):
Using your mouse, highlight the recipe(s) that you want to print. Choose FILE -- PRINT -- OPTIONS -- SELECTION.
Netscape

Netscape users do not have the option of choosing the text that prints. Netscape prints everything you see in the preview window. There is no need to highlight anything with your mouse because it doesn't do any good.

Go to the category with the recipe(s) you want to print. Choose FILE -- PRINT PREVIEW. A window will pop up that shows the first recipes in the category (starting at the very top of the web page). If the one or two that you want is there, you will want to print only 'from page 1 to page 1' (See *** below). If the recipe you want is further down on the web page, click 'Next Page' until you see the recipe you want in the print preview window, then click PRINT (remember which page number showed on the Print Preview Page -- it will say '2 of 3' or '4 of 6', etc.,) *** After you click PRINT and the little printer screen comes up, be sure to put the page number in the blanks. For instance, if your recipe is on page '3 of 5', tell your printer that you want to print 'from page 3 to page 3', so that you will only be printing page 3.

Warning! If you just click PRINT and don't use the PRINT PREVIEW window first AND ALSO TELL YOUR PRINTER WHICH PAGE TO PRINT, you will end up printing ALL recipes in that category -- and there might be 5 or 6 pages (or more!) of them, which can be very frustrating. (Hint: It's FREE to download Internet Explorer -- and it comes in handy when you're browsing the web. Lots of sites work better with it, including JHS Alumni)
