Class of 1979 - 30th Reunion on Saturday, July 25th, 2009

Class of 1979 Reunion Web Site Goes Live

The Jacksonville High School Class of 1979 will be hosting their 30th Class Reunion on Saturday, July 25th, 2009 at The Legacy in Jacksonville. The event is scheduled from 8:00 PM until midnight.

The event is being styled as a “Multi-Class Reunion Bash” and the Class of 1979 has invited Classes 1976 through 1982 specifically. But the organization is extending the invitation even further -- to any JHS Alumnus who has an interest in reconnecting with schoolmates from other classes. Former teachers are also encouraged to attend.

A dedicated web site has been created as a portal for information, registration, and a nostalgic nod to the JHS spirit and history. The web site ,www.MightyFine79.com, features interactive PDF forms that can be filled and emailed to the reunion organizers for easy registration. The web site also provides a secure online payment method.

In addition to easy registration, grads will also enjoy viewing a flashback page with pictures of previous reunions. A list of classmates that are “MIA” encourages networking to locate missing alumni, while a Memorial page honors the memory of classmates that are deceased.

An interactive PDF form is also available to provide data for a “Bio E-Book”, which will compiled and available free of charge prior to the reunion event. Opportunities for sponsorship advertising on the site are available. Interested parties may visit the site for details.

One of the highlights of the class reunion will include a reading by JHS graduate Cordell Adams, author of “Light Bread”, a novel that weaves a story around the tumultuous 1960s and his creation of Veola Cook -- a “brave, Black earth mother of wisdom, warmth and wit.” Reunion attendees are encouraged to bring their copy of the book, or purchase one on-site for Cordell to sign.

The organization’s goal is to promote the web site and the event as a means to create a “JHS reunion” as opposed to the traditional “class-specific”, exclusive event. For more information and contact info, visit www.MightyFine79.com.



Class of 1984 -- 25th Reunion will be July 24th, 2009

Class of 1989 - 20th Reunion will be July 18, 2009

Currently we have the date set for July 18 2009 at the Castle on the Lake at 7pm. The cost is 100 per person or couple. The deadline for money is June 15, 2009 and after that it will be 125.

Also we are opening up our reunion to other JHS classes so we welcome the attendance of other classmates to our event if they are interested.
